Many people have tons of rubber bands in their kitchen drawer. Besides just sealing little bags of chips, there are other useful tips on how to use rubber bands. These are some that I got from yahoo, and I also came up with some of my own uses for rubber bands.

From Yahoo:
– Wrapping a rubber band around a can of paint at the same level as the amount of paint that is left on the inside
– Folding it into a little eraser for pencil doodles
– Looping a band around the neck of a soap dispenser to limit amount of use at once
– Wrapping a rubber band vertically around the cover and page of a book you’re reading to create a bookmark
– Wrapping cords to prevent them from tangling
– Binding knobs with rubber bands around cabinets to keep them shut(so babies can’t open them)
– Wrapping base of remote control so it doesn’t slide off your sofa
– Wrapping a rubber band around a roll of toilet paper to keep your pets from pawing at it
– Wrapping several rubber bands around shampoo containers so that they don’t slip out of your hands in the shower
– Reassembling wedges of a cut apple using rubber bands to slow down the browning process
My ideas:
– At home I like to have my own cup to drink out of. When I drink out of a cup that has nine twin cups(like the glass cups that come in sets), leave it at the sink, and come back to find two identical cups instead of one, I feel “unsafe” and decide to take out a new cup.  This makes me use too many different cups in one day when I can manage using about three. So I came up with the idea of wrapping different colored rubber bands around each of the cups so your family knows which cup to use(and not to use).
– Another use I thought of was for the tissue box. When a tissue box gets old, the hole gets wider and weaker. I thought putting a rubber band around each end of the box and making the hole smaller by moving the bands in would help keep the tissues from falling into the box.

According to Yahoo, there are four easy ways to help make and save money. The first way is through a site called This place is for selling old books, DVD’s, cd’s, video games, etc. If I sold my two shelves of boring books, box full of old games, and my dad’s shelf of CD’s he bought for fun, I would become a millionaires.
The second way to save money is by collecting all your coins and spare change into a jar. At the end of every few months, you can see how large they can add up to. You can change these coins at the bank or dump them in coinstar machines and use the change for gift cards, shopping budget, etc. I remember going to the coinstar at foodemporium every once in a while in America. It was a lot of fun watching the coins drop into the little holes for about ten minutes.
Another way to earn money is using your hobby as your work. For example, if you like sewing dolls, making T-shirts, making jewelry, playing around with graphic design, or making your own pottery, you can sell your products at Zazzle, Cafepress, or Craigslist.
The last way to earn money is by gathering all your useless belongings and selling them on or on ebay.

An interesting article from yahoo-an article on chocolate milk-got my attention right away. I personally like chocolate milk a lot. The soft, tasty image of chocolate milk asked my cursor to come over and give a click. Unfortunately, the article was about using chocolate milk as a diet source. I still read the article and thought it was pretty interesting, so I did a bit more research on chocolate milk.

Chocolate milk is “ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL WEIGHT-LOSS TOOLS IN THE NUTRITIONAL UNIVERSE.” I’m not sure if this is true, but that’s what yahoo said, as well as many other sites that are about chocolate milk. If you drink three 8-oz servings of chocolate milk(before breakfast, after exercise, at night), it can help drop a lot of fat quickly. The simple and short reasons for this are because the calcium in the chocolate milk can prevent your body’s ability to absorb fat, the vitamin D to move calcium from the milk to your body, and because of the high protein chocolate milk has.

Another thing that chocolate milk can help you do is increase your exercise endurance. I found that in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, people who were given chocolate milk before riding stationary bikes were able to ride 49 percent longer that those who were given other drinks. Chocolate milk(for some confusing reason) makes people want to work out harder, and milk also has electrolytes that keep you more hydrated than water does.
Some other things that chocolate milk can do are: give you a healthier heart, better blood pressure, help your muscles recover quicker after workout, improve skin appearance, and boost your memory! This is all (apparently) true!!

Many children grow up with the mother-to-child myth that the internet is bad for them, because apparently the internet always equals games. Also, there is a psychological theory of internet addiction. Internet addiction causes people to spend more time socializing on the internet rather than being outside with friends and classmates. Having done a project on internet addiction(^^) a while ago, I learned that it is supposed to influence your mental state of happiness; Internet addiction is known to lead to depression. However, there is fresh scientific proof that spending the time surfing the internet can actually make a person happier. The internet is said to increase a person’s feelings of security and personal freedom.
